Introduction for children ages 5-14 to the Olympic sport of fencing. Often called a physical game of chess, fencing develops endurance, coordination, agility, poise, and balance. $50 nonrefundable deposit required to hold a spot.
The BFC Summer Youth Camp is designed to introduce kids ages 5-14 to the exciting sport of fencing. Often called a physical game of chess, fencing develops endurance, coordination, agility, poise, and balance. While fencing is a physical sport, it is also a mental game developing concentration and problem solving.
Each 5-day session will help beginning to intermediate youth fencers learn the basics and improve their skills. Camp will include warm-up games, footwork, agility and coordination development, fencing instruction, bouting and fencing games.
All equipment and protective gear is provided in the camp fees. Students should wear a t-shirt, long pants such as sweats or athletic warm-ups, and clean-soled athletic shoes with laces. Please bring a sack lunch and water bottle
Age levels for Beginners:
5-7 year olds: Foam Swords; Morning Only
8-9 year olds: Plastic Foils; Morning Only
Intermediate:
Metal Foils, Epees, and Sabres Full Day Only
Cost
$300 per student mornings only (10-12:30)
$400 per student full day (10-4).
A nonrefundable $50 deposit is required with the registration form to secure a spot in the camp.
No refunds after the start of camp.
The BFC will be open by 9am for drop-off each morning.
