The camp’s general foci are control and initiative: how to use technique, time and distance to eliminate the number of choices you need to make, create multiple problems for your opponents to solve, and delay committing to an action as long as possible. We’ll train at common problems and situations which come up on the strip, and look at ways to develop the skills necessary to be successful at high-level foil.
This clinic is appropriate for intermediate through advanced level foil fencers and their coaches. Athletes should come with workout clothes (shorts + t-shirt), full regulation fencing attire and a willingness to learn.
To ensure a good quantity of coaching attention for each participant, camp will be limited to 30 participants. A waiting list will be maintained.
