Our clinic leader, Damon Scaggs, is a Certified Referee Instructor and a Referee Examiner with the Fencing Officials Commission. This clinic qualifies as a rules seminar, the attendance of which is required in order to become a certified referee.

Rules Seminar: Saturday, September 20th, 5:00 - 9:30 p.m.

Even if you're not interested in becoming a certified referee, you are encouraged to attend. This is great opportunity to learn the rules as applied to all 3 weapons, learn your rights as a fencer, as well as learn about current issues in refereeing. Some topics of discussion include rules and their current application, scenario-based discussions of right of way, and the administrative role and responsibilities of the referee.

This event will also be excellent preparation for taking the online exam, another requirement of referee certification. More info on becoming a referee:
