All AGES GRAFA FOIL and Epee Camp with Notre Dame Coach Gia Kvaratskhelia

Gia Kvaratskhelia, Notre Dame Fencing Coach, who lead Notre Dame fencing squad to NCAA Champions 2011 will be participating in this camp

This camp is the first of four cumulative camps to be held at Grand Rapids Fencing Academy during the 2015-2016 fencing season. Each camp will continue to build on the knowledge of the previous sessions. Designed for the intermediate and advanced fencer, it will focus on the preparation of youth fencers for the 2014 Summer Nationals; specifically, extensive training exercises, footwork and advanced strategy.

Maestros Mikhail and Arkadiy Sarkisov, the head coaches of GRAFA, will be the instructors along with Coach Gia. Both Maestros hold a BS degree in Physical Education from Russian University and a Masters degree in Fencing. They were Gold Medalists of the Soviet Union in 1985, medalists at the USSR Nationals from 1986-1989 and finalists at the World Cup and Student World Game competitions. In 2005 Maestro Mikhail Sarkisov has been recognized by US Olympic Committee as Developmental Coach of the Year.
Many of his students successfully compete on National and International levels. Mikhail and Arkadiy have been developing fencing in the Grand Rapids Metro area since 1993.
Fencers will be divided into age groups and/or by fencing experience.

The camp will be limited to 40 students. Host families of members of Grand Rapids Fencing Academy will provide accommodations and meals.
Lunch for the both days of the camp will be provided by GRAFA.
Day 1 lunch will be catered by Subway
Day 2 lunch will be catered by local pizza parlor.
