Richmond Fencing Club Advanced Foil/Epee Camp with Duke Coach Darius Wei -- Competitive Fencers age 9-18.
The Camp open to ANY fencer with the appropriate experience and skill level.
Richmond Fencing Club Advanced Foil/Epee Camp with Duke Coach Darius Wei
"Darius Wei joined the Duke coaching staff in July, 2012. He is a coaching veteran of over 10 years with stints at the University of Rochester (2002-08), the Northwest Fencing Center (2008-2011) and the Vega Fencing Academy (2011-12).
In his first season, Wei helped guide the Blue Devils to a 12th-place finish at the 2013 NCAA Championships, while the men's and women's teams earned top-10 rankings in the USFCA rankings. As the staff's foil specialist, Wei mentored a women's foil unit that yielded four fencers with at least 20 wins and a men's squad that produced five double-digit winners.
Previously Wei coached at the Northwest Fencing Center in Portland, Ore., working with the senior women's foil team that won back-to-back national championships in 2008 and 2009 and the senior men's foil team which won a national championship in 2010 and a bronze medal in 2011. Athletes who have trained with Darius have earned success at a high level, including North American Cup finals, National Championships, and NCAA Championship berths.
A native of Greenwood, Ind., Wei holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the Rochester Institute of Technology (2001). He is married to Kathryn Pierrynowski."
August 14-August 18 2017. 10am-4pm, with early drop-off and late pickup available upon request.
The summer camp fee is $350 and includes a catered lunch each day.
A non-refundable deposit of $100 per student is required at the time of registration in order to reserve your place. Please mail deposits to our mailing address, listed below. Full payment is expected prior to the start of camp.

Activities include Group lessons, Competition, Footwork, Games, Technique & Tactics, and Fencing Videos.
Participants should wear comfortable athletic clothes, and bring their fencing gear. Club equipment will also be available.
