AFM Epee 2017 Summer Nationals Preparation Camp is designed to provide the best possible preparation for the epee fencers completing in Summer National Championship. Suitable for competitive fencers in Youth, Cadet and Junior ages
Athletes will experience intensive immersion in fencing, honing specific techniques, strategies and tactics, in numerous bouts and tournaments and engaging in mental training for success. The entire camp is conducted to ensure that fencers reach peak readiness in time for the most important competition of the year.
Coaches will work with participants to improve their fencing skills and provide constructive feedback on technique and on-strip strategies to help athletes adjust their game during fencing bouts.
Each athlete will be challenged to think critically and develop approaches and methods to improve their own fencing performance and empower themselves in national competition and their training afterwards.
The camp is directed by the world class AFM Coaches
Youth/Cadet/Junior epee fencers are invited to attend.
AFM Summer Nationals Preparation Camp includes:
• physical training and conditioning
• intensive footwork, drills and developmental exercises
• coached open bouting
• bout tactics and strategy,
• fencing bouting with different tasks
• fencing video reviews
Dates: Monday June 19 – Friday June 23, 2017
Camp Hours: 9am – 1pm
For achieving peak performance it is best to attend 2 weeks camps.

$345 for 1 week camp
10% discount if attending 2nd week camp
10% discount for second sibling (double discount for second week applies as well)
To complete pre-registration a non refundable deposit of $100 must be paid on askFRED.
The camp fees need to be paid in full on the first day of camp.

Equipment:
Fencing exercises and bouts will be performed on electrical fencing equipment, each camper should bring:
• 2 (or more)working weapons and body cords,
• fencing outfit (jacket, mask, gloves, underarm protector, good shoes, fencing knickers and long socks)
• Two changes of clothes (at least T-shirts) to change before lunch and at the end of the camp.
• A healthy lunch
Space is limited so early registration is advisable. Unfortunately due to the limited space we will not be able to accept walk-ins or registrations after the deadline.
