TWO DAY FENCING REFEREE CERTIFICATION CLINIC
WITH SANCTIONED 3-WEAPON TOURNAMENT
Saturday and Sunday, December 16 and 17, 2017

Fencing Master George Kolombatovich, former President of the Fédération Internationale d'Escrime’s (FIE) Referees’ Commission (the commission that selects the referees for all World Cups, Regionals and World Championships, and the Olympics) will be giving this clinic. As an FIE ‘A’ Referee, he has refereed numerous finals in each of the three weapons at four Olympic Games and many World and Regional Championships and World Cups. George has been sent all over the world by the FIE to give referee clinics. He has also been a delegate of the FIE Refereeing Commission for the Olympics, World Championships, Regional Championships, and World Cups. An FIE and USFencing Certified Referee Instructor and inductee into the USFencing Hall of Fame, George will lead a two-day, 3-weapon referee certification seminar at the Stoccata Fencing Academy & Club. Saturday will be the interactive seminar, and on Sunday, December 17, referee observations will be available during the 3-weapon tournament.

All participants should have a prior knowledge and understanding of the rules. All participants are to have a copy of the Rules Book with them, either printed or readable electronically (iPad, Kindle, etc.) If a participant has a question regarding the Referee Study Guide, the answer to which she or he cannot find in the Rules Book will be answered, usually by referring to the Rules Book.

DATES: December 16-17, 2017

TIMES: Saturday (clinic) 10:00am - 6:30pm
Sunday (observation tournament) 10:00am - 4:00pm

Their will be a lunch break on Saturday. You can bring a lunch with you (we have a fridge & microwave) or there is a Subway and a Wawa within a 5 minute drive.

FEES: The fee for this two-day seminar is $75. Pre-Register at ASKFRED.NET. If you must register at the clinic, the fee is $85, and you will need cash or a check. Please make any check payable to: George Kolombatovich.

Referees of all Levels – To confirm their knowledge of the rules, right of way, etc.
Coaches - Who want to keep abreast of what is interpreted at the national and international level.
Athletes - Who want to improve their game and gain an understanding of what makes a winning action, including the part the referee plays in deciding that.
Parents - Who want a better understanding of tournaments and the foundation of the sport their children are involved in.
