Spend Friday evening with Columbia University Head Coach Michael Aufrichtig to Learn about the College Recruiting process as it relates to Fencing
This seminar is essential for High Schoolers and their families to deeply understand about college recruiting process from one of the most famous Ivy League fencing coaches.
This seminar will explain a lot of different topics and prepare you for the process of applying to college recruitment if you want to continue your fencing in college.
In particular, coach Aufrichtig will cover the following areas:
-- NCAA Rules
-- Do Point Standings matter? Cadet, Junior, or Senior more Important?
-- What are other factors Coaches are looking for while recruiting?
-- What to send to coaches and when to send it?
-- Test-taking ACT/SAT and the High School Transcript
-- Importance of the Club Coach’s recommendation
-- Balancing Academics with Fencing
-- Different between a Recruit and Walk On
-- Question and Answers With Coach Aufrichtig
Target audience:
-- High Schoolers (9-12 grade)
-- Middle Schooles (6-8 grade) - while this might be too early to think about college application, knowledge of the process will help you down the road when you will be in high school
-- Their parents
Fees:
$25 - for a family, only primary fencer's registration is required. Families are welcome to attend together with their fencer
