This camp week is designed for both beginner/intermediate fencers as well as fencers from our Youth Invitational Program. Fencers in this camp have under 3 years of competition experience. Fencers will be split for fencing-specific drills/situational bouting.

Beginner fencers will acquire basic fencing skills including footwork, blade work, & distance control. Fencers will fence with electrical equipment and understand fencing etiquette, rules & sportsmanship.

More experienced fencers will focus on furthering their technique, strategic thinking, situational bouting, & conditioning.

Attention: askFred only collects a deposit fee, which will be included in your payment.
Payments can be completed on your first day, by check, credit card, or cash.

Time: 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Cost: $625.00/week or $135.00/day
Three minimum days are required. 10% Sibling Discount.
2-hour extended pick-up available ($15/hour)

What to bring:

1. Long athletic pants (mandatory during bouting, shorts can be worn for stretching, footwork, and games).
2. Sports shoes (tennis shoes are good)
3. Extra T-shirt
4. Water bottle (a filtered water fountain is available)
5. Bagged lunch.
(or money for Iggy's bakery store, which is three minutes away. A supervisor will walk with the kids).

Please make sure your child has updated USFA membership for the 2022-2023 season. If your child is a beginner, you will fill out a waiver for them on the first day, which is good for the week.

If fewer than 10 people register for the camp, it may be canceled, and your deposit will be refunded in full. Please check your e-mail for confirmation the week prior to the camp.

Individual lessons are available after/before and/or during the camp hours, upon request.

Parents, please note: our students’ safety is our foremost priority.
– Fencing is a physical sport. The games we play in the introductory classes may include running, jumping, and physically interacting with similar-age peers. Additionally, our trained staff may assist your child in suiting up and changing out of fencing gear.
If there is anything we should know about your child to help them feel most comfortable during this class, please let us know (i.e. difficulties with attention, sensory challenges, being unusually shy in new situations, need for special medication, inhalers, etc.)
This information will help our instructors to safely engage your child and ensure everyone’s well-being.
