Royal Arts Super Youth Circuit is held during the Arnold Sports Festival, the largest multi-sport festival in the world, hosted by Arnold Schwarzenegger with 180,000+ visitors and 19,000+ athletes. Super Youth Fencers enter the festival free!
In addition to the festival, the Ninth Annual Arnold Fencing Classic will afford SYC fencers and their fencing family members another competition opportunity, including Y8, Open & Veteran events! Registered SYC fencers pay no registration fee for the Arnold. *Refer to note in registration information

The refund policy for the 2012 Royal Arts Super Youth Circuit:
Requests before 11/1/2011: Registration fee: 100%, Event fees: 100%
Requests between 1/2/2012 - 2/1/2012: Registration Fee: No Refund, Event Fees: 90%
Requests between 1/12/2012 - 2/02/2012: Registration Fee: No refund, Event Fees: 50%
Requests after 2/02/2012: No refunds.
All fees must be paid on-line through www.askfred to complete the registration process or with postmark mentioned above. Please be sure to provide the email address (in askfred) so we can communicate any tournament changes and updates to you.

THE FINE PRINT Information you are required to know
MAKE SURE YOU CAN RECEIVE EMAILS FROM ASKFRED.COM. Many times urgent and important information needs to be sent to all fencers and this is the way it is done – through the askFRED database.
If your registration is being rejected for age, but you are currently listed on the National Rolling Points for the next lower age, please contact Terry at: magnetfencing@gmail.com
Check in requirements for each day and each event.
The venue will open for fencers Friday March 2, Saturday March 3 and Sunday March 4. (TIME DETAILS ARE PENDING)
IN ORDER TO COMPETE THE FENCER MUST CHECK-IN AT THE VENUE BEFORE THE LISTED DEADLINE (CLOSE) OF EACH EVENT WITH THE FOLLOWING ITEMS:
1) A USA Fencing membership card (see details below); AND
2) A fully-completed waiver form that has been signed by a parent or legal guardian (see details below ; AND
3.) If this is the first SYC for the fencer, a birth-certificate (copy acceptable) or other government-issued identification showing a birth date is required
To help us speed registration, please download the waiver form, print it, read it, sign it, and bring it to the table with you. This is especially critical if the fencer does not have a parent/guardian at check-in. No one will be allowed to fence without a signed waiver form.
Waiver of Liability
A parent signature is mandatory on both the USFA membership form and the SYC waiver/informed consent. These forms will be available at registration as well as emailed to you through askFRED upon registration. If you do not receive one through askFRED.net, first, check your spam mail. Membership
New USA Fencing memberships and new or replacement USFA cards should be obtained through the USA Fencing website many weeks before the tournament. If you are within a 3 week window, please do not make your membership on line, but wait and bring a completed form (including signature of parent or LEGAL guardian) to the tournament.
Athletes arriving without proof of USA Fencing membership must fill out all appropriate forms and pay for membership at registration even if already a member. Refund requests can later be made with USA Fencing as appropriate.
Fencers must be a current competitive USFA or FIE Member. Proof of membership is required. This information will be obtained from USA Fencing on Thursday, March 1. Any discrepancies regarding membership must be resolved by this date.
This includes club affiliation, division, classification, date of birth, gender, type of membership, etc.
All fencers who begin the registration process on FRED will receive membership status information via askFRED email using most current USFA membership data. Membership information can be found at the following link: http://usfencing.org/us-fencing-membership. Single day memberships are not valid for SYC events.
Age requirements
Birth year requirements for the 2011-2012 season
- Youth 10 event 2001-2004
- Youth 12 event 1999-2002, or on Youth 10 NRP List
- Youth 14 event 1997-2000, or on Youth 12 NRP List
Format information EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS AND INSPECTIONS
Y10 fencers must fence with weapons NO LONGER than 32 inches (also known as "2"¯or "0" blades). Equipment check will be open each day of the competition at the same times doors open. (Armory has indicated they may also be available on Thursday evening for initial events on Friday and an email will be sent via askFRED to confirm the times).
Equipment check will test the mask, lame jacket, gloves and body cords. Items that have passed inspection will be specially marked. Masks that do not pass the 12-kg punch test will be impounded or given a visible mark to signify that the mask is "not approved for use."
All events are conducted with electric equipment. A preliminary check will be conducted at the beginning of each pool and DE bout to ensure the presence of: underarm protector, plastron (if required), 2nd weapon and 2nd body cord, and weapon check control marks.
Athletes are subject to prohibition from fencing if these conditions are not met.
Parents and fencers should expect significant lines for equipment check between prior to beginning events on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Please plan accordingly. Those fencing early on Friday, Saturday or Sunday can have their equipment checked the day before.
Weapons will not be inspected or marked in advance of Thursday, but failure to have the proper number of working weapons and other equipment at the strip is subject to penalty according to relevant USA Fencing rules. Once marked for the tournament, it is good for the whole weekend.
Note that Sword Masters will be on site with repair services and to sell new equipment, but fencers ultimately are responsible for having all necessary equipment in working order.
Names on uniforms will NOT be required per YDC update.

FESTIVAL ADMITTANCE
The Arnold Sports Festival requires a ticket to get in. All athletes are given a three-day pass into the festival. All others (parents, family, coaches, etc ) must obtain a ticket/wristband to get in. It can be done the day of the festival or booked ahead: http://www.ticketmaster.com/promo/j4w9k7
