------------------ Important Info: -------------------

The Bluff City Open 2012! We'll have a grand time fencing in the events below for trophies and medals! Come young, come old, come one, come all!! Spectators and future fencers welcome to come and watch! NO admission fee for observers!

Collegiate fencers - new and experienced - come and test your skill against fellow college students from around the SouthEast. Represent your school to earn bragging rights in an open mixed epee tournament. Any current college student may compete. Will have to show current student college ID when registering at the competition. USFA Membership is NOT necessary although USFA rules will be followed.

LOCATION: TBA

REQUIREMENTS:

USFA ID/MEMBERSHIP: Required for ALL events EXCEPT Novice Epee, Youth Epee, and Collegiate Open. These are non-ratable events. ALL other events REQUIRE proof of USFA membership. (Check out usfencing.org for membership options, including the one-day membership deal.)

PLASTRON: ALL competitive fencers must have a plastron underneath their jacket - REQUIRED. We will have a FEW onsite - HOWEVER, to be safe, order your own (they cost very little at absolutefencinggear.com)

FENCING PANTS: are SEVERELY recommended, any sweatpants will have to be taped shut while we frown at you.

WEAPONS: Each fencer MUST HAVE THEIR OWN WORKING WEAPON + BODYCORD. TWO are highly recommended or face losing points if your equipment fails you (which it will) and you cannot borrow what you need.

FEES: THERE IS NO ADMISSION FEE for observers. Only competing fencers will pay a Registration Fee of $20.00 (includes ONE event) and then $10 per event thereafter. Competing fencers who enter AT THE DOOR instead of pre-registering will pay $25.00 for the first event, then $15 per event thereafter.

College students will pay $10 if pre-registered, $20 if you just show up.
