Regional Youth Circuit tournaments serve as a qualifying path for North American Cup and National Championships. If you fence in the Youth 10 or Youth 12 event at this tournament, you are qualified for the same event at the National level. If there are fewer than 4 entrants in an event, we will combine the men's and women's events.
As an additional qualification path to Y14 National Championships - Place first in the Y14 event at a current-season RYC tournament. To enable qualification, we will fence both men's and women's Y14 events regardless of the number entered.
This tournament is sanctioned by the USA Fencing Regional tournament rules. For more information, including tournament schedules and news, please go to http://www.usfencing.org .
If you're coming in from out of town:
The city of Denver offers a multitude of activities that will be of interest to visiting fencers and their families. Restaurants and micro-breweries are varied and plentiful. The Hilton Gardens is a brief RTD light rail trip to, and the downtown Courtyard Marriott and Embassy Suites are within easy walking distance of, the Denver Performing Arts Center, the 16th Street Mall, the Tattered Cover Bookstore, the Pepsi Center, Coors Field, the newly opened History Colorado Center, and the Denver Art Museum. In particular, the DAM is very kid friendly. REI’s flagship store, with its four story climbing wall, the Downtown Aquarium, and Elitch Gardens amusement park are about 1.3 mile walks.
If you wish to range a bit further, The Denver Museum of Nature and Science is a can’t miss attraction for lovers of all things dinosaur. Next door to the Museum of Nature and Science is the Denver Zoo. The new Elephant Passage exhibit recently opened. See http://www.denver.org for detailed information about even more events and performances.
We have worked with these hotels in the past, and they score very well on tripadvisor.com, however have not made specific arrangements for this tournament.
The Denver RTD Light Rail can be used to reach the Evans station, which is the closest station to DFC. The downtown hotels are a short walk to the main light rail loop, and the Hilton Garden has a free local shuttle bus that will take you to the Belleview station (or anywhere else within about a nine mile radius).
