We've decided to add some fun to the beginning of summer with a Boardminton, Youth Epee & Team 3-Weapon Tournament!
Boardminton is a game developed at SFC. It's similar to badminton as there are teams and a birdie, but clipboards are used instead of rackets. Come join the fun!

Events Scheduled:
Boardminton Tournament 3:00 pm
Y12 Mixed Epee 4:00 pm (check-in close)
Y14 Mixed Epee 5:30 pm (check-in close)
Team 3-Weapon 7:00 pm (check-in close)

~Boardminton teams will be chosen at random from among the people here that day. Non-fencers are welcome to join in the Boardminton tournament!

~All fencing events will fenced with electric equipment.
Underarm protectors, chest protectors, knee high socks, etc., will be required.

~Youth epee events are open to all fencers regardless of rating. No weapons classifications will be awarded.
Boy and girls will be mixed in each age category with 100% promotion from the first round.

~For the team event, we are using Salem Adult League 3-Weapon rules*, and the tournament is unsanctioned (no USFA membership required). It is open to teams from any club, all ages, all weapons.

*Adult League 3-Weapon Rules: Standard team order will be used. Matches can be in any weapon that both fencers are cleared to bout in (dry foil, electrical foil, dry sabre, electrical saber, electrical epee - sorry, no dry epee). AFL rules will be used for dry bouts, and USFA rules will be used for electrical bouts. In case of a disagreement over weapon choice, fencers will play rock-paper-scissors to decide who gets to choose. In the event that opponents do not have a weapon in common, teams can either use their substitute if they have one, or both fencers forfeit 0-0.

Registration is $10 & $5 per fencing event. Registration includes pizza dinner. All entry fees are payable at the door.

Preregistration opens on 05/23/2014.
Preregistration closes on 06/27/2014.
