2017 Avant-Garde Saber Cup - Meade H Anderson Mem.May 28, 2017
This is a master tournament for all saber fencers regardless of their competitive experience. Scheduled one month before nationals, it offers great prep competition. Live results will be posted at www.tinyurl.com/agfccup. Perpetual trophy for youth events
This year's tournament is dedicated in memory of Meade H. Anderson and winners of the youth events will get their names engraved on the perpetual trophy. Trophy cups and medals will be awarded to top 8 finalists.
Current competitive USFA membership required.
Registration fee is $10 by 5/26 and $20 at the door. Event fee is $30. An additional $2 USFA Southern California Division fee is collected for sanctioned events. Registration fee is non-refundable.
Events Scheduled:
08:30 AM - Y10 Mixed Saber (born 2006-2009) - #0 or #2 blades required
10:00 AM - Y12 Mixed Saber (born 2004-2007)
12:30 PM - Y14 Mixed Saber (born 2002-2005) - sanctioned
02:30 PM - Open Women's Saber ( born 2003 or earlier) - sanctioned
03:30 PM - Open Men's Saber (born 2003 or earlier) - sanctioned
Check-in closes at the times posted above. In order for the tournament to start promptly, all fencers should arrive ahead of time to check in and warm up for the competition. Please call 310.473.8890 for any participation changes.
All participants will enter a drawing with raffle prizes awarded between pools and direct eliminations.
Parking:
Turn South from Olympic Blvd. one block West of Barry Avenue, through the alley (between 7 Eleven & Sir Speedy) and park for free in the designated parking lot (with yellow metal gates - Barry Plating Co.).
