The 1st annual Shante Benford senior open, honoring local fencer and coach Shante Benford. A Senior 3-Weapon Open with mixed events and women's epee. Trophies for mixed epee and women's epee.

Location is confirmed as Fairview community center in Roseville.

Ro Sobalvarro, coach of the 2012 Olympic women's epee team, is holding a women's epee training camp in conjunction with the Shante Benford memorial tournament. If you are fencing in more than one event, you will only be asked to pay the additional event fee ($15). Proceeds from the camp will benefit the Benford family.

If you are coming from out of town, we are partnering with Hampton Inn Hotel and Holiday Inn Express to offer discount rates for our fencers. Reservation cutoff is 2/16.

This is a USFA-sanctioned tournament and competitive memberships are required - high school members must upgrade to a full competitive membership. All USFA equipment rules will be enforced.

Why have senior tournament fees gone up?
Our senior tournaments are too large to run efficiently at local clubs. We are moving our larger tournaments to local community gyms, and the fee increase goes toward paying for these venues.
