This is a GLFC event that is also open to non-conference fencers, grades 9-12. Non-GLFC fencers must check-in with their adult sponsor/coach. GLFC fencers cost $20, non-GLFC cost $30. Pools and DE format. Awards for top 8 finishers. GLFC rules apply.

Awards: Individual medals will be awarded for First �Eighth place in Men�s and Women�s Foil, Epee, and Saber. Award ceremonies will occur at the conclusion of each event.
How to Register: Registration will be on askfred.net. Sign-up will close at 11:59 PM Central Time on Thursday, January 4, 2018. No registrations will be accepted at the door. The event fee is $20 for members of the GLFC and $30 for fencers from outside the Conference.
Schedule: Check in closes for MF, ME, WE, WS at 8:30 AM. Check in closes for WF and MS at 11:00 AM. Start times will be: Men�s Foil 9:00 AM, Men�s Epee 9:10 AM, Women�s Saber 9:20 AM. The usual GLFC format will not be used in the interest of running an experiment suggested by Shawn Smith. MF, ME and WS Direct Elimination bouts will be fenced before the pools of WF, WE and MS. The start time for Men�s Saber is expected to be 12:30, Women�s Foil is expected at 12:45, Women�s Epee is expected at 1:00. There is a high degree of uncertainty regarding the size of this meet. We plan to set up 23 strips. If the enrollment is small and strips are available Women�s Epee may start as early as 10 AM.
Format: Pools and Direct Elimination format will be used. Assigned pool size will be 6 or greater.
Notes: The rules of the Great Lakes Fencing Conference will apply to the DeerfieldHighland Park Invitational. USFA rules are enforced with the following exceptions: Weapon warnings will not be given and 800 Newton Saber gloves are not required. Concessions and Services: Food concessions will be available from about 9 AM until about 2 PM. Mike Czarnik will be on hand to sell equipment. Armorers and a Trainer will be on hand.
