MINORS MUST HAVE A SIGNED WAIVER BY A PARENT/GUARDIAN!
A University of Maryland policy requires that all minors (under the age of 18) bring a waiver signed by a parent or guardian. Minors WILL NOT be permitted to fence in the absence of this waiver. We encourage you to bring this waiver with you to the event to give to the bout committee when you check in. There will be copies available at the bout committee but we ask you to please have them ready before hand to expedite our registration process. Emails will be sent to all pre-registrants periodically to remind you of this waiver. Thank you for your cooperation!

If you arrive after the close of registration, you can only fence at the discretion of the Bout Committee, and additional fees may be applied.
Online registration closes at 11:59PM on 4/27/2018.
Format
The format will be 1 round of pools followed by 1 round of direct elimination. 100% of fencers will advance in events with fewer than 64 entries; 80% of fencers will advance in events with 64 or more entries.
Registration Fees
Registration fee: $20
Fee for each event: $40 if pre-registered and paid online, $75 at the door.
Fencers are limited to one event per day.
PRE-PAYMENT MUST BE MADE COMPLETELY ONLINE THE REDUCED RATE TO APPLY.
Special discounts
The first three A-rated fencers who register in each event will fence absolutely free. This will be processed as a refund at the time of check-in; to receive this discount, an A-rated fencer must pre-register and pay online. A-rated fencers who do not pre-register and pay completely online will not be eligible for this discount.
Current graduate/undergraduate college students with a valid student ID are eligible for a $10 discount off of each event fee. This will be processed as a refund at the time of check-in; to receive the discount, students must present valid ID at the time of check-in. Students who do not pre-register and pay online are still eligible for this discount, but will be required to pay $75 for each event fenced.
Refund policy
The registration portion of the entry fee and any AskFRED surcharges are non-refundable. Event fees will be refunded for an athlete who needs to withdraw and does so in writing (or by e-mail) on or before April 10, 2018. After this date, no portion of the entry fees will be refunded.
Equipment
There will be an equipment check staffed by at least two armorers at all times. For local fencers or those arriving early there will be an equipment check Friday night at the University of Maryland College Park Campus, Reckford Armory from 7pm to 8:30pm.
Absolute Fencing Gear will be onsite at the tournament for fencers to purchase new equipment.
