Fencers aging out of Cadet (birth year 2002-2005) and Junior (birth year 1999-2005) after JOs and Cadet (birth year 2003-2006) and Junior (birth year 2000-2006) fencers aging into these age categories are allowed to compete and earn points for qualifications towards Summer Nationals 2019 and Junior Olympics 2020. EVENT ENTRY

Events are open to current USA Fencing competitive members age-eligible to fence, and to foreign fencers with current FIE license or proof of affiliation with their federation.

REGISTRATION AND EVENT FEES

*Registration fee is nonrefundable

REGULAR Fee Entry/Payment period (until January 26: $30 registration* + $50/event.

LATE Fee Entry/Payment period (January 27-January 31: $90 registration* + $150/event

NO WALK-IN ENTRY.

REFUND POLICY

Send all refund requests to cherylfencing@gmail.com. Do not attempt to withdraw yourself, as no refund will be issued. Registration fees and USA Fencing fees are nonrefundable. Requests for event fees refunds will only be honored if received prior to midnight on February 2, 2018. There will be no exceptions to this policy. USA Fencing will issue refund to credit card used for the registration. On tournament day, fencers who fail to check-in at the registration desk before the posted close of check-in time for their event will be withdrawn from the competition, and no there will be no refund of entry fees for any reason.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
* All days/times listed are close of check-in, and are SUBJECT TO CHANGE. Schedule change notifications will be sent. Check for updates before presenting to compete.

*Fencing generally commences 15-30 minutes after close of check-in, or as tournament conditions permit.
* Arrive sufficiently early to be ready to fence when registration closes. We suggest arriving at least 1 hour prior to close of check-in of your event.
* Venue opens at 7:00 a.m.
* Equipment check required.
* RYC events may be gender-mixed if there are at less than 5 fencers of either gender.
* Fencers not checked in by the posted check-in time for their event will not be permitted to compete and no refund of fees will be issued.

** Liability waiver - Upon entering this tournament you agree to abide by the current rules of USA Fencing and other applicable rules instituted by Thrust Fencing Academy, and Westchester-Rockland Division of USA Fencing. You acknowledge you are entering this tournament at your own risk and release USA Fencing and its sponsors, Thrust Fencing Academy, Rockland County Community College, Escrime Management, and referees/staff from any liability. With entry you give consent to tournament organizers to obtain medical care from any licensed physician, EMS personnel, hospital or clinic for any injury or illness that may arise during activities associated with this tournament. Photography, filming, recording, or any other form of media of the athlete during the tournament can be used by Thrust Fencing Academy and USA Fencing. Those wishing to opt out of media coverage must inform the Bout Committee.**

*USA Fencing or other foreign federation competitive membership required. Must present membership card (or proof of membership payment) at check-in. TOURNAMENT FORMAT

* Equipment check required.
* Y10 fencers must fence with blades no longer than 32.5 inches.
* Must have at least two working weapons and two body cords present on-strip.
* Full USA Fencing regulation uniform required. Name is NOT required on uniform. Foil mask with conductive bib required. 800N Saber glove required. t.15 1. Fencers arm, equip and clothe themselves and fence at their own responsibility and at their own risk.

* Fencers are responsible for ensuring accuracy of all posted information and must report errors to the bout committee immediately. This includes club affiliation, division, classification, date of birth, gender, spelling of name, etc. Errors in posted pool results must be reported to the BC immediately (within 5 minutes). Once DE round starts and tableau is posted, the pool results are final and no adjustments will be made. Check all scores before leaving the strip. Fencer signature on pool sheet and DE slip implies accuracy.

SEEDING:
RYC - Current National Youth Ranking according to age group and weapon, then letter ranking with year classification, then fencers with neither points nor classification. Fencers with equal classifications will be randomized within each classification. Only ratings and points standings listed on the USA Fencing website at the time of the tournament will be used. RJCC - Current National Rolling Points Standing regardless of classification, then classification and year. If athlete has neither National Points nor a weapon classification they are seeded on a random basis with the other athletes in the same situation.

* Each event consists of two rounds (pools and DE (direct elimination).
Pools: One preliminary round of 5 and 6 or 6 and 7 person pools comprised of the standard 5-touch bout in 3 minutes. 100% then advance to direct elimination round.

Direct Elimination: DE tableau shall be comprised according to the results of the preliminary pool round.
Y10 DE format: 10-touch bouts (two 3-minuteperiods with a 1 minute break between). The first period ends either at the expiration of three minutes or when 5 hits are scored, whichever comes first. During the 1-minute break, ONE PERSON designated by the fencer (team-mate, coach, or parent) may be on the strip with the fencer.
Y12/Y14 DE format: 15-touch bouts (three 3-minute periods with a 1 minute break between) During the 1-minute break, ONE PERSON designated by the fencer (team-mate, coach, or parent) may be on the strip with the fencer.
Cadet/Junior DE format: 15-touch bouts (three 3-minute periods with a 1 minute break between) During the 1-minute break, ONE PERSON designated by the fencer (team-mate, coach, or parent) may be on the strip with the fencer.
* No fence-off for third place; Medals awarded to 8th place.

* Photography and filming is allowed, however NO flash photography is allowed near ongoing competitions.

Withdrawal:
* Withdrawal during pools: The pools must be fenced through the last bout. A fencer who withdraws, or who is excluded, is scratched from the pool, and his results are annulled as if he had not taken part.

* Withdrawal during DE: When for whatever reason a fencer cannot fence or cannot complete his bout, his opponent is declared winner of that bout. A fencer who withdraws does not lose his place in the overall classification of the competition.
