NEFDP Dry 3 Weapon TournamentMar 31, 2019
The NEFDEP 3 Weapon Tournament is fenced dry. Individual fencers fence for best of 7 touches in all three weapons. Teams fence with 1 fencer in each weapon for best of 7 touches. Preregistration required. Entries close at 12:45pm. Fee is $10.00.
The Nathaniel Ewell Fencing Development Program dry Three Weapon Individual and Team Tournament for Salle Green members starts at 1pm. Events being fenced are:
Individual three weapon - bouts are for the best of 7 touches, 3 touches in foil, 1 in epee, and 3 in sabre. Each fencer fences all three weapons, and indicators are based on the score when the bout ends when a fencer scores 4 touches.
NOTE BECAUSE OF ASKFRED LIMITATIONS BOTH EVENTS ARE LISTED AS SINGLE WEAPON - FOIL FOR INDIVIDUAL, EPEE FOR TEAMS. BOTH EVENTS ARE FENCED WITH ALL THREE WEAPONS.
Team three weapon - teams consist of 3 fencers, 1 in foil, 1 in sabre, and 1 in epee. Team matches are for the best of 7 touches, 3 touches in foil, 1 in epee, and 3 in sabre. Each Team consists of one fencer who fences foil, one epee, and one sabre. Indicators are based on the score when the match ends with the scoring of 4 touches by one team.
Bouts are fenced dry, without electric scoring. The order of the weapons is determined by coin toss. All fencers will be expected to judge and referee as appropriate.
Salle members of all ages and genders are encouraged to participate.
If a team enters a wheelchair fencer, able bodied fencers will fence seated on the stool under wheelchair rules. If a team enters a blind fencer, the blind fencer will fence epee only and both fencers will wear a mask that covers the eyes.
Entry fee is $10.00 payable at the door before the start of fencing. All funds collected go to support the mission of NEFDP to support the development of three weapon fencing and individual athletes.
USA Fencing non-competitive or competitive membership required. This event does not result in any award or change of USA Fencing classification.
PREREGISTRATION for both individuals and teams IS REQUIRED. Participant briefing will be held at 12:45pm and fencing will start promptly at 1:00pm, and fencers should be ready to start at that time.
