FORMAT:

1. Fencers in each age group will be randomly divided
into pools of 3, 4, or 5, fencing each other to 5 touches
or 3 minutes. Tournament manager may use independent
judgement in determining initial seeding (e.g. seeding may
factor in a fencer's physical size, experience, etc.).

2. Second round seeding will be based on results
from pools.

3. If there are 4 or more fencers in the competition,
the top 6 fencers will be placed into two teams of three
fencers. Two teams will fence each other in standard
team format. If there are 4 or 5 fencers, the vacant
spots on each team will be marked N/A, and any round
in the team event with that empty spot will be skipped.

4. If there are 2 or 3 fencers in the competition, there
will be a single elimination ladder drawn up with bouts.
Y10 bouts will be 10 touches or two 3-minute rounds, and
Y14 bouts will be 15 touches or three 3-minute rounds.

5. If there are more than 6 fencers in the first round,
a direct elimination tableau will be drawn up of the
fencers ranked 7 or below. These bouts will fenced to
5 touches or 3 minutes (not the usual 10/15 touches).
