Western PA Division presents the Black & Gold High School Invitational. This event is open to ALL fencers, grades 9-12 or home-school equivalent. Fencers do NOT need to be part of a high school fencing program.

All fencers MUST be either Competitive members, Non-Competitive members, or High School members of USA Fencing. Proof of membership must be shown at check-in.

This is a USA Fencing Sanctioned High School Event: classification changes can be earned by fencers with a Competitive or High School membership.

Medals will be awarded to the top four finalists in each individual event.

Team awards will be given to the men's and women's teams with the overall best results. A team must consist of at least three fencers from the same school/program, and awards will be based on team results across all three weapons.

Events (Close of Registration):
Junior Men’s Foil – 9:30 AM
Junior Women’s Epee – 11:00 AM
Junior Men’s Epee – 12:30 PM
Junior Women’s Foil – 1:30 PM
Junior Men’s Saber – 3:00 PM
Junior Women’s Saber – 3:00 PM

Event Fees: $20 registration fee, $20 per event. $10 fee for at the door registration.

We will be accepting cash, check, and credit cards.

Equipment Check:
We will be checking masks, gloves, and cords.

Foil masks must be used for foil events. Foil masks cannot be used for epee events. Saber requires an 800N glove.

Chest protectors for foil fencers must adhere to the USA Fencing rule of competition m.25.4 requiring the outside of the chest protector to be covered with a soft material and bear the appropriate SEMI technical mark.

Full fencing attire, including plastron, knickers, and long socks, must be worn by all fencers.

Pre-registration closes on 2/20/2020. Registration will be accepted at the door.
