This is a qualifying event for San Bernardino division fencers ONLY. Qualifying events for Junior Olympics. Events with 3 or fewer fencers will not be fenced, since all would qualify.

ONLY USFA MEMBERS CURRENTLY REGISTERED WITH THE SAN BERNARDINO DIVISION MAY PARTICIPATE IN THIS COMPETITION

The entry fee is $25.00 for each event. Fencers MUST preregister in advance on askfred AND check-in on the day of the event to qualify. Events with 3 or fewer fencers will not be fenced, since all would qualify.

Junior Olympic Quals:
9am - Men's & Women's Jr(U20) Foil
10:30am - Men's & Women's Jr(U20) Epee
12pm - Men's & Women's Jr(U20) Saber
12pm - Men's & Women's Cadet(U17) Foil
12:30pm - Men's & Women's Cadet(U17) Epee
2:00pm - Men's & Women's Cadet(U17) Saber


Please note the following:

USA Fencing requires a current membership, which we will request proof of at the time of check-in. You may present a current card, or an image on your phone or an e-mail receipt. You may print a current card from https://member.usafencing.org/ Once you log-in to your account go to "My Profile" and select "Profile" and then select "My Membership Card" and print.

We will also be checking proof of year the fencer was born if the USA Fencing Membership Card does not indicate "DOB Verified: Y"


Cadet 2005-2008
Junior 2002-2008

Any copy or digital image is acceptable proof. These include: birth certificate, passport, immigration card, immunization record, school transcripts.

Use of Plastron (or underarm protector) is required

Weapon's Check: All weapons will be scored electrically. Equipment (masks and gloves) will be inspected and marked.


Parking is free in the lot adjacent to the entrance.

REGARDING QUALIFICATION:
Please check the USA Fencing Athlete Handbook Section 2.6.3.1 regarding Number of Qualifiers. We will fence off for third only where necessary. (http://www.usafencing.org/athlete-handbook)

COVID PROTOCOLS:

MASKING
Everyone inside the venue will be required to wear masks at all times regardless of vaccination status.

Masks must be at least two-ply (no neck gaiters). Masks must cover nose and mouth.

PHYSICAL DISTANCING
Maintain at least 3 feet apart.
No sharing of beverages or food.
No handshaking.

LIMITATIONS ON OBSERVERS
Spectators will be asked to wait outside the gym. All Competitors, Coaches, Referees, Armorer, and bout table can be inside the Venue (gym)

STAYING HOME WHEN APPROPRIATE:

If you are feeling unwell, please stay home.

If you have tested positive for COVID-19, are showing COVID-19 symptoms.

If you have had a close contact with a person who has tested positive for or who has symptoms of COVID-19.

If you have any signs of the following:.

• Fever or feeling feverish (chills, sweating)
• New cough
• Difficulty breathing
• Sore throat
• Muscle aches or body aches
• Vomiting or diarrhea
• New loss of taste or smell
